Emma and her Elf

Our dear friends, Jenny & Catie, turned us on to a wonderful tradition -- Host an Elf. Each year, a few weeks before Christmas, an elf ( our's is named Glitter) comes for a visit. She always manages to get into all kinds of mischief while we are asleep at night. Emma has so much fun trying to find out what Glitter has been up to during the night. You really need to check out the website, even if you don't have kids of your own. They have created a wonderful project called "An Elf from Catie" that supplies children with cancer in the hospital over the holidays with an elf of their very own.

Emma's First Recital

Emma had her first dance recital on Sunday. Of course, she was the best dancer on stage! Well, maybe she didn't have the best technique, but she was beautiful and quite humorous! She paid attention better than she does at home. She did wander across the stage once or twice, but her Daddy and I thought she was wonderful. And of course, the grandparents thought she was PERFECT.

Getting ready back stage.

Actually, that is pretty good technique, isn't it!

Look out, Mary Lou!

Emma and Caitlyn ... what a pair!

But the best part of the night was getting flowers from Daddy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was full of travel and adventure (cars getting towed, flat tires, football games in the rain) but it was wonderful all the same. Plus we made it though all the travel safe and sound. You can't ask for much more than that.
Emma ate like a little pig on Thanksgiving ... turkey, cranberry sauce (her favorite), mashed potatoes (she made them), stuffing, green beans and, of course, pumpkin pie! She cleaned her plate!

Showing off the hat that Nana made her.

Hi Daddy!

Back off my peanut butter, Rebel!
Yes, that's right.....he's back!

Goodbye, Little Buddy!

After a lot of though, we decided to find a new home for our sweet boy, Rebel. Since we will soon be moving into an apartment we decided Rebel deserved to remain in a home with a large (and hopefully very tall) fenced in yard. He is still a pup at heart and needs the space and the freedom to run.
I was very lucky to find a very loving young couple to adopt him. They are getting married in January and already have plans for a family wedding photo with Rebel and their other dog, Abby. They are even taking the "kids" with them on their honeymoon! I know he will be loved very much and continue to be spoiled!
It was pretty hard last night when they came to get him, but I really noticed it when it was time to put Emma to bed. We always spend at least 5 minutes shooing Reb out of the room, but last night there was no Reb to shoo.
Clay is staying with us. She is too old to care about being in an apartment. I think she is taking this harder than anyone. Last night she wouldn't leave the front door.
Rebel, I hope you know how much we love you! Goodbye, sweet boy!

Clay, it's just you now!

Go Noles!

Robb, Emma and I attended our first FSU football game this past weekend. We really enjoyed spending time in our soon-to-be new home with some of our favorite friends .... ok, they are more like family. We spent the afternoon with Will and Kathleen at the FSU Marching Chiefs Alumni activities. The FSU football atmosphere was completely different from the UGA scene. And the stadium is beautiful. Emma was so excited......almost as excited as Robb...... when Chief and Renegade came out onto Bobby Bowden Field. And to make the game even better, Margaret was on the Homecoming court.

We ended up leaving after half time, because it was SOOOO cold and late. But I know that it was an experience that we will repeat next year!

Say Cheese

For the longest time, whenever Emma saw a camera she would absolutely, no matter what, not smile. Those days are long gone. She has definitely learned that the camera is her friend, and will not waste any opportunity to cheese for the camera!

Have a great day, Daddy!

Mickey, and Minnie, and Goofy -- Oh, My

Emma and I went to see Disney on Ice in Savannah last night. We had so much fun! We stopped at Cracker Barrell and had a yummy dinner and then headed for the Civic Center. We got her picture taken with Mickey and Minnie, got a Mickey flashlight and found our seats. Emma didn't take her eyes off the ice the whole time! She was enthralled with the skaters. We saw The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch and Emma's favorite - Peter Pan.

Emma was so well behaved. She clapped at all the right times. She booed when the bad guys came out and she cheered when the good guys saved the day.

And she was asleep before we made it out of the parking garage!

Peas Please

Emma loves to eat!!! Fruit, veggies, red meat, chicken, eggs, seafood, milk, "chocit milk", ...... you name it -- she will eat it. But like any child, she has her moments when she doesn't want to eat anything. Tonight I discovered a trick....take a picture for Daddy and she will eat ANYTHING! Tonight she ate broccoli and spinach!

Mommy's Little Helper

Emma loves to help me around the house. I am not sure where she got here love of house keeping from (I know it wasn't from me), but she will help with anything. A few days ago she matched socks with me and tonight she put away the silverware from the dishwasher. A few more months and I may have a clean house!

Daddy, the movie is especially for you!

Happy Halloween

We had such a great Halloween! Emma went trick or treating on Oatland Island with Nana and Pop, trick or treating on the cruise with Mamaw and Papaw, trick or treating at school with Daddy and trick or treating around the neighborhood with her friends! After all that, she still wants more!
